2016 Edition #1 no start and no lights (bad OEM battery)

I'm away from home and my wife called and said our 2016 Ed 1 has no response when the key is turned on. No dash lights, nothing.

Trying to help remotely as I won't be back for a couple days. My first inclination is to suspect the battery, but the fact that it's completely dead is suspect that it may be a fuse or something else. Any advice? I can certainly pull the battery when I return and have it checked it I'd like some input from you fine people

Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like a dead battery.

I am actually hoping that you are correct. Awful strange that it would go from " working fine" to " absolutely dead" in a couple days. Hoping that there is not some type of odd parasitic drain causing it.

When you say no response when the key is turned on (dash lights, etc...)... is that ONLY when the key is turned, or does absolutely nothing turn on when the door is first opened, either? Interior lighting and the IC display? I'd even say check to just make sure the battery is still connected firmly. Already had vehicles where everything seemed fine and dandy, but as soon as you'd turn the key, there would be a faint click, and nothing... and it turned out to just be a somewhat loose battery connection.

Garage
Use the warranty and have them pick up the car and bring her a loaner. That's what good customer service would be for such a new car....

The car has absolutely no power. No Lights when you open the door. Nothing

The dealer is 120 miles from me, and I will certainly hit them up if it turns out to be something other than the battery Returning home tomorrow, so I will inspect the connections and check the load on the battery

auto lights/auto wipers like a 451??................

I seem to remember on a 451,leaving the auto lights/auo wipers in the ON position, would drain the battery very quickly. Has
smart fixed the problem on the 453,or does it continue??.................

Hmmm. We certainly do leave the Auto lights and Auto wipers on. Seems pointless to have them if you have to turn them off when you park the car

Not sure what causes this, but have owned my 2013 since March 2016 and have always left auto lights and auto wipers on with no ill effects on battery.

Never had that issue, either, on my 2013 for the 3 years of the lease.
