Deadwood, SD Rally

Any interest in a Deadwood Rally next year, June/ July 2016. I just relocated back to Deadwood from NY after being away for forty one years. The Black Hills are beautiful, you have casinos, bars, Custer, Rushmore and Crazy Horse to the south. Devils Tower, great riding around. Plenty of rooms. Check out Deadwoods Web Site. Just curious.

Would love to go back to the hills.
Although living in NJ it would be a long trip for me.

There was some discussion about having a Midwest Rally in SD, but since there was nobody that was close enough to do the leg work, it got scrapped. I would love to see an event there!! The wife has wanted to go there for years, just never could find the time when both our schedules (work) could do it. I understand there is a few weeks when you don't want to be a tourist there, something about motorcycles...

it's just under 1000 miles for me, so 2 days of busy driving each way... maybe...

Can someone set up a poll to see how much interest in a Deadwood rally. Thinking July or late Aug 2016, next summer. This is a tourist town now, would have to plan it around the other events. You can see this years events by going to the Deadwood site. I have a friend in the Deadwood Chamber, so I know this is doable if there is enough interest.
This year is the 75th Sturgis bike rally, 1 millon supposed to show up.

Usually the Midwest rally has been held right around 2nd weekend in June, weather is still cooler, no crowds at the tourist places yet, but one later in July/August could work too. I'l set up a poll. Probably won't get much response until after Midwest rally

I put a response in the poll thread for this event. It is closer for most of us in the Midwest than Denver (last nationals) and a great place to drive a smart car. So many things to see on the way there and the motorcyclists like interesting small cars...especially since their engines are a lot bigger than ours.
