Double din help!

Hey guys!

Do you think you can help?
I recently bought my first ever customized addition for my darling 2008 Cabrio, "Miles".
Unfortunately, no dash installation kit included with said radio due to sizing worries.

This is the radio in question:

The frame that was originally suggested to fit with the radio itself was said not to fit my car, Amazon Garage warned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

While you're here: What was the first ever customized piece to your car you ever bought/had installed?

Happy beepin'!

Scosche or Metra double DIN kits will work* - just make sure you specify for 2008 - 2010 fortwo.

* got this from one of the reviews: "It is slightly larger than a standard double din radio by about 3/16" of an inch in width and height. It's just enough to be a hassle." It appears it's not truly double DIN size and you will probably have to modify the dash kit.

I can recommend the American International mounting kit SMK 108P for smart fortwo 2008-2010. The finish and texture are really good. I used one to fit a 7" Android/GPS radio to my passion. In reality, it does not have that divider in the center and is ready for double DIN use. My radio was also a little larger than standard Double DIN, but it fit using this kit.

There are also good wiring adapters that will plug in to the smart harness so you don't have to cut any wires. Of course, you still need to connect the wires from the adapter and the radio's pigtails, but it is easier because the adapter's wires match the standard wire colors on an aftermarket radio's wiring pigtail. I like soldering and heat shrinking all connections. I used this adapter:
