Highline Radio won't power up.

Happy New Year fellow SMARTies!

For some reason, when I got into the car today to go home, the radio started...the Smart Logo came up...and that's all. It won't power up any further. I can push the button that flips the face down to insert a DVD, but the Smart logo never goes away, and the radio won't get me to the menu. No matter what I push or what I have tried, it just doesn't power on completely. I restarted the car with the radio ON and with the radio OFF.

Anyone else ever have this problem and a possible solution? I really don't want to yank the radio out if I don't have to.

It was working fine this morning (and for the last 9 months) and it worked when I went out to lunch...but when I got in to come home...only the logo comes up and stays "frozen".

I appreciate any tips or suggestions.

There are two fuses for radio power, one of which is ignition on and one of which is battery power. I think they are fuses 15 and 20, but check that. I would pull the fuses for awhile and let all the unit internal capacitors discharge, then reinstall the fuses and see what you get. Make sure before you do this you know the unlock code to enter when it powers up. If you have not changed it the default code should be 0000, but check the unit manual to be certain.

If that does not restart it there is not much else one can do other than shake your finger at it and give it a stern tongue-lashing. If is has dain bramage that won't help.

Highline Radio won't power up.

Happy New Years BigHAZE

Sounds like head unit might have a internal fault you can go to your nearest dealership and see if its covered under warranty

How about disconnecting the battery for a 1/2 hour? This seems to reset everything.

You can try that first quick, if it still gives you the problem. Head over the dealership as the last resort and explain to them that you radio has a internal fault. Vehicle within
warranty

Dang I ran into the same problem today,
after connecting my new phone through bluetooth, I thought lets reboot the whole system and see if it connects properly.

And there is was, just a logo. The operating system seems to be running to some extend as a usb-key gets checked on insert (flashing led on pendrive for 5 seconds) but then it's silent again.

You can also switch it off by pressing the volume/power button for a few seconds and then back on again but to no relief.

I know this thread is 2 years old but i hope someone might catch it.

I have this problem too. I had it last winter and found that disconnecting the battery seems to sort it out for a while. Its been fine all through summer and now the temperatures are dropping I am having problems again. Not sure if its the unit or the wiring. Would love someone to come up with an answer. It is very intermittant and as mentioned I think it happens in cold temperatures.
