Tone ring

Hello Smart car groupies,

Found a crack in the tone ring yesterday while replacing right rear ABS sensor. I'm not sure it can be welded good enough to prevent sensor from triggering every time I drive my 08 Smart for two, or if I need go replace the entire rear axle. Any suggestions would be helpful
Thanx
Dennis

Are you referring to the reluctor rings, one on each axle? If so, they can be replaced. Evilution has info on the procedure. Basicly, remove axle, remove old broken ring (might as well do both) install new ring, install axle and your done!
Its not quite as easy as I make it out to be, but really not that hard either.
Keep us posted!
