ZOMBIE ATTACK!!!

Today I spent the entire day with Kermit. He was absolutely filthy inside and out. I started out with a thorough cleaning at the car wash. Topside and the bottom side, inside too. Took about 45 minutes. Got back to the house and sprayed the engine down. Put him up on the lift and drained the oil. Then I drained the transmission and put in some Royal Purple. I also hit the shift mechanism with white lube under the boot. While I was doing all this my dad was hard at work waxing away....wax on - wax off, a task much easier when the car is on a lift! After I finished all that I hit the wheels with a little wax as the road I live on has really done a number on my rims. Brought the car down to top it off with some Mobil 1.

Next up was getting rid of Kermit's pink lips. I pulled the front end off and swapped in a silver grill surround. Got the front back on then to the interior. It was already vacuumed earlier so next was cleaning the layers of dirt off. I wiped everything off with cleaner wipes first, then Armor All was next along with leather conditioner for all of the leather (seats, dash, steering wheel, shift knob etc.). This cleaning included the seals too.

Just when it was almost time to finish, it happened. All this hard work had summoned the rain gods. The Corvette was outside so I had to call it a day. Got Kermit back home and in the garage safe.

Here he is all cleaned up....still has pink mirrors. Sorry picture though, one handed because I was holding Molly. Paint has a great reflection though my dad didn't like the wax, Meguire's Nano? paste. Got it on clearance. Originally $16 a can - paid $3.

Yesterday I hardwired the new lift in. Now it is safe, before it had a wires plugged into an electrical outlet. Think I am going to like this thing.

I hit the panels with meguiars clay bar when the sun went down.

Gonna try and wax it tomorrow if I can find a spot in shade somewhere.

Oh and I changed the oil/filter earlier.

Today I hauled my wife and I, and a bunch of tile tools, up to Charlotte to finish a floor-tile job for a friend.

Lil Blue got his 40K oil change today and hubby got the wedge kit we purchased from Barney installed on the rear wheels. I still need to get air filters purchased and replaced.

I drove 500 miles from Ohio back to DC. I got 42.7 MPG over the 1,000 mile trip from what I calculated earlier - not bad considering today I ran 75-90 most of the way back, including in the mountains.
