Electric conversion kit?

I notice that the electric 451 has the same frame as the gas engine 451 so I wonder if in the future an electric conversion kit will be available so that a old gas engine can be swapped for a new electric engine? Is this a feasible idea?

Anything can be done given the size of your bag of money?

The 451 ED frame/floor pan has been tweaked to accommodate the battery pack and the suspension is upgraded.

With the current soft resale prices on pre-owned ED's, dunno whether the cost of such a conversion would make sense?

I have seen VW Bug conversions to electric drive - quite pricy.

I wouldn't do it now b/c my engine only has 35K miles but when it gets old in 5 years down the road I was thinking maybe this would be a better option than putting in another gas engine. Maybe by that time electric engines will be cheaper? ?

Nothing of the drivetrain/fuel source will be plug and play as the ED frame and pan was modified to accept the battery pack.
