They could have had a life long customer from me but with the way i see alot of the smart centers treat there customers it makes me not even want to own a smart..... Every time ive been to a smart center its always nice on the inside but when i get my car back im severly dissapointed. The last thing i want to do is take my 15,000$ car to a place i dont trust....

been there... the Chevy dealer in town cost me a bunch of money on a truck I had, I even took them to court but lost because I didn't bring my mechanic with me. Judge was a member of the 'good old boys'club with the dealer) cost me $3k. now that dealer owns all the dealerships in town. I buy cars elsewhere as does just about everyone else. The city even bought their police cars from out of town... What goes around. comes around.
Not all dealers are that bad, but when you find a shop that works for you, keep them in buisness

I bought my '09 from smart center Portland when the Kuni Auto Group had the Penske franchise. When MB took back the franchise and gave it to MB of Portland, I followed the Kuni staff and techs over to Kuni's Collision Center just down the road in Beaverton, OR. I never contemplated taking the car to MB of Portland. I'm due for my 30,000 mile service (that was 4,000 miles ago) and as soon as I buy a set of plugs I'll get the 30k service at Kuni. I already called them about installing customer-supplied plugs. They said "no problem at all, but we won't warranty them".

Yes , your mileage. Just trying to get a feel for the service life of parts. Like your clutch actuator, and tie rod. Thats all.

Star Motor Service - Home - Charleston, SC

Been servicing my old Benz cars since the day they opened. Excellent service at reasonable prices. Sorry, not interested in Smarts. People in NC and GA bring their cars to Star for major service and repairs. It's that good.

In the Charlotte area, these guys are tops. First smart work they did was to swap out a burned up motor for one of the denizens here. Found stuff on their computer that the M-B dealer didn't with their Star system. Very liberal on pricing. Don't charge for research or learning curve. Do a thorough job.

Yep, it's not limited to the occasional smart dealer: Camaro owner records mechanics abusing car, scheming to get damages paid for | Motoramic - Yahoo! Autos

The automotive industry is one of the lyin'est, cheatin'est kinds of businesses there is. If you find yourself a trustworthy service center or mechanic, hold on tight and treat them like the golden angels they are!
