I would think that a MB owned dealership would only sell MB products where a MB Franchise could sell other units besides MB..

and I thought Neon had a high post count.
The point being is that selling or not selling the smart at a MB dealership may depend on the arrangements with MB. Those MB dealerships with franchise agreements may not be legally allowed, may have an option, or may be permitted in the agreement to turn down selling the smart or any other MB directed product, such as the Sprinter Vans.

As for the post count... no worries...you'll catch up one day!

You know, I never thought of that. It would have been ironic in the extreme. Good one!

I do.

Anyway, I gave Lake Bluff a horrible sales grade (F-------) but the rumor is that they're supposed to blend into the Mercedes Showroom so I'll pop in there again when that takes place.

Hopefully as an owner and not tire kicker.

Neon Thats what I did. It was sort of useless. They wont enter you into the computer UNTIL you have a service call. They had no parts or accessories on display. The MB salesguy was nice enough though and I got to look at the 2011's that Hoffman had none of. Seems if your not buying a car, need parts, or have a broken car there is very little time for you. Thats understandable from a $$$ view. Of course since my visit, there have been negative reports here on the forum about said MB dealer.

FWIW, it appears all Mercedes-Benz dealers in the USA are independently owned (at least I can't find any info on dealerships owned by M-B USA). As such, the owner decides which M-B lines they want to carry. Not all dealerships carry the Sprinter van and we know all too well not all of them carry the smart.
