The World's Smallest Car

The current world record holder for World's Smallest Car was the Peel P50. It is street legal and is in cheap production.

This UK guy steps it up a notch with his Pimp-My-Ride Postman Pat mailtruck powered by an 150cc ATV engine and chassis.

It's just has been put into the record books that he owns the smallest road legal car in the world. The P50 remains the smallest production vehicle in the world and keeps its #2 spot as smallest.

U.K. man builds world's smallest car out of children's ride (w/VIDEO) — Autoblog Green

It gets 70mpg but forget about safety, this thing is only legal for public roads as it tops out at the ATVs top speed of 40mph. If he got a more powerful ATV engine he might have gotten it highway legal. It features windshield wipers, turn signals, tails, and headlights.

Now that's cool.

And of course, the smart rules as USA's smallest car (and I don't need proof)

HA HA HA HA HA.......but he stole someones smart 'wind up key'!

Bad thing is that it's sooooooo small, you might not see it in front of you and smash it between you and the car in front when coming to a stop.

I know it's not a 'production' vehicle, but it makes the Nano look like a freakin' TANK!

Specs.
No specs list but just the general stuff:

Powered by a 150cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine hooked to the rear wheels...but it's working head lamps, tail lights, windshield wipers, horn and turn signals mean it's fully street legal in Britain. The small-displacement engine reportedly returns 70 miles per gallon and manages to push the diminutive flame-painted flyer to a top speed of 40 miles per hour.

added a steel frame to the fiberglass shell and propped it all up with the chassis from a quad.

For those interested in the Peel P50, there is an article - Microcar News - of some one who built a replica; the Myzer M-49.

Ah, but the advantages:
1. Unless you got under the tires, a semi couldn't touch you (it would roll right over and past you)

2. Think of the fun you could have with Hummers and other eco-nightmare monster vehicles - with a PA system, you could drive right up under the driver's seat, and make funny noises, causing them to spend $$$ at a dealership getting it diagnosed.

3. It could BE the spare for a smart...

4. You could park them in a shopping cart at the grocery store, and take it with you into the air conditioning (summer)/heat (winter)

5. For technology workers, and other cube-farm inhabitants, you can drive right up to your desk, and have a foot rest...

6. For a performance upgrade, you can "borrow" your neighbors lawn mower...

7. It would take the idiot-focus off the smart....

8. Suzuki engine makes it fastest, most dangerous vehicle on earth.

9. Floats in water; amphibious with some sealant and prop

10. Cabrio?

And the disadvantages:

1. You're the crumple zone

2. Good luck with hills

3. Towing capacity?

4. ROAD TRIP!!!

5. P50 Rally on the expressway

6. smart vs P50 drag race

7. I'd buy it in a heartbeat

8. Downhill + failed brakes + no reverse gear =

9. Where to put the wife?
