Needed changes

1. Who likes the seat release (for back angle) in the middle between the seats. And the seat is not spring loaded like on most cars.
2. What about the long hesitation in the shift from 1 to 2?
3. The lighter is in the way of the front cup holder.

1). Not sure what you mean by them not being spring loaded. Don't have to pull the back of the seat forward while lifting the handle. And if you mean spring loaded to lean back.... No car is built like that. As for the handle being in the middle... I like it that way. Doesn't NEED to be on the other side.

2). The long hesitation isn't really that noticable... Unless maybe you're driving an '08. Also not that bad if you remember it IS a manual transmission at heart.

3) well... Stop smoking? It's a horrible habit anyway. And.. It doesn't even come with a lighter... Just a 12v socket.

1) I've had another car with the seat release in the middle. I would think it would be more convenient for a right handed person - I'm a left and still don't have a problem. Guess I'm not to limp wristed, I work on building it up as much as I can.

2) Don't notice the hesitation. Guess almost 80k behind the wheel of a smart I've just become desensitized to it. Drive the car more and you'll notice it less.

3) Cigarette lighter? People still smoke? I use the 12V socket, never really bothered me about location. I've found some other cars to be less convenient.

1) Seat release doesn't bother me. I set it once when I picked up the car and haven't touched it since in the last 6 months.

2) I drive mostly in the manual mode. (No comments from you BB Benz)

3) Smoking = Yuck The 12 volt socket is used for iPods and Garmin GPS

The only thing I have to say about the seat positioner being in the middle... is that it does make it a pain to fold the passenger seat flat forward for loading cargo... it would be easier with the handle on the door side of the seat... for normal adjusting while seated.. in the middle is no problem.

tvengineer: well, i believe it was designed so that even though the adjustment handle is in the middle, it'd be easier to reach it from the driver's seat and fold the seat down.

B: Yeah... kinda like how my sister in law's car has the 12v port hiding in like the center console or something like that.

On my Yaris, the 12V is way down out of the way but I suppose even though it is a reach, it does have a tray underneath it to put the phone, ipod or whatever.
