The FCC Considers Ending Net Neutrality

One of the coolest things about the Internet is that it's open, it's free. A small car enthusiast forum running on a free domain has as much of a chance as something like AutoGuide.

Only that the FCC wants to make the Internet more like TV...only worse...

The Internet Is About to Become Worse Than Television

This is very bad !!!

Businesses always seek ways to increase cash income. The next step is to force out the little guys, leaving only the big players. With the playing field to themselves, what free things start to cost money. It will start out as a small price, but watch it increase over time.

Remember when cable TV started? The price was reasonable, but after that the rate went up and up ...

The other bad thing is information control. Let's say a new diet drug is found to have very dangerous side effects like death. In the current system, information about the potential dangers would be impossible to stop. However, if the company producing the drug sees a loss in profit coming, the company can pay to have this information blocked on the net.

It would be nice if the world of big Pharma really worked that way. In their world, and ours, big risk side effects cost Pharma only a small portion of their profits, mostly in political contributions.

On blockbuster drugs, few major side effects will be acknowledged until their patent runs out. LOL* A2Jack
