Old XP Replaces Cable Box

Cut the cable ? Sent the box back ? Saving all that money , but miss your programs ?

Dig out that old XP desktop computer and just stream off the internet.

Simple, go to Amazon and get a VGA to HDMI converter. Syba with Audio is the one I choose, and it works great with both my Samsung TV's. (Both have HDMI inputs.) Cost around $17 for the converter.

I am able to hear, and adjust the audio levels for both the tv speakers and a set of regular headphones ,simultaneous. (I do not hear well). TV Speakers are set by the remote, Headphones are set by the video clips own volume control. Video out put is in full Hi def.

Power for the converter comes off the USB on your XP. Questions ?

Here's the info for apple

I run a late 2009 imac. Both sound and pix now work great. Apple may have done an upgrade, because at first I had to pull my sound off the computer.

Here is the converter you will need to come out of your display port to HDMI. $10. Of course if you have an HDMI output port on your computer you need nothing but an HDMI cable. Read the reviews on the site. A2Jack ?

Amazon. PNY-A-DM-HD-W01-Mini-DisplayPort- to HDMI Adapter:

Remote's

Since the computers are buried away out of sight. Here are the cheap wireless keyboards we use as remotes. $21 @Wall-Mart, (Logitech K-400) comes with dongle. Works with XP and iMac.
