Yep, I am heading towards 70k miles on the car now. Earlier this year I took it in for new tires, brakes and I had to get a new wheel because of pot holes. That cost me almost $1500... Otherwise, going well.

I liked my smart I really did. But it just got to the point that I hated going anywhere. My daily commute up to Silver Spring. (I'm convinced all of MD drivers are a$$holes) I've been bullied around so much. I got so tired of all the nasty looks I got when walking through a parking lot to my car. Oh and what's that word that seemed to be on the tip of everyone's tongue? Pretentious! And even though I felt my smart was safe, a F350 trying to mow you down in any car is scary. However, since I got my Subaru no one has tried to mow me down, ran me off the road, called out anything rude, given me dirty looks, etc. I see the smarts all over and I still think they're cute, but my mind immediately goes to wanting to ask them if they are having such a horrible experiance as I did. But I wouldn't dare flag someone down. I remember how much I hated it. It first when it was for inquiry I didn't mind so much, but after so many insults I hated anyone that called out to me.

I look at it this way. I had a really cool car for a while. I will always have the pictures and memories of owning one of the coolest cars ever. And now my smart is bringing someone else joy (hopefully). In the mean time I really am loving the new Subaru. I was going to buy a Subaru 2 years ago before I saw a smart. Parking isn't quite as fun, but the off roading part makes up the difference. :) If I see ya driving around I'll honk & wave.

I guess it's just the routs I drive and the areas. I traded my smart in about 3 months ago. I got SO tired of all the harassment. I had nasty letters and notes left on my car. People yelling out nasty things. Soccer mom's blocking me. Everyone always parking over the line b/c I could possibly need that whole parking spot. Then there were the young guys in their sports cars that couldn't handle a chick in a micro car. I literally got ran off the road twice! And once was when I was trying to merge on the the highway! I decided always having a great parking spot wasn't worth it. I really liked my smart, but everyone else made me hate it. So I traded it in for a Subaru. I still see smarts all over the place and I was just wondering if anyone else around here was getting treated the same way.

    Green Street,

I was wondering if you ever have any problems with your smart? Not your car, but problems with other people and your smart? I ask because you live relatively near me.

I got the blue Brabus last week, 3/30/10.
It took some doing to make it happen, just for availabilty, color panel swap, and even a Kenwood sound system upgrade!
It drives/handles better and even sounds better inside too!

I'm sure those snowy pics are spectacular! But I don't do Facebook... Don't worry, I can imagine. Thanks!

I went to Alexandria for my 10k service and the price was cheaper (I think I saved about 70-80 bucks). Call the 2 locations to get a price quote (that what I did). Happy Holidays

OK. The car's plate was "I'm Smart".
I can't commit to the Dec 18th meet, as I'm low-man on the job totem pole and might have travel that week, but hope, and spring, spring eternal, eh?

    Hey, Eric, how's tricks?
Look, I viewed your message this morning from work, but the USG frowns on two way commo and somehow your question about the fuelly sticker went for a walkabout.
It's easy: first, you have to be a member of fuelly. Then simply copy the sticky (it saves as a .png file) and paste to your "user customizations".
I was unable to figure out how to do the http link method; the only downside of my Polish method (I'm of Polish ancestery, so I can say that) is you have to make dedicated copy and pastes as your milage goes up, or down, to accurately reflect your status.
    Hope all is well,
    Cheers,
    Tom
