Wipers work okay, but do not swipe across efficiently in light rain.
There is a fix they replace the battery from 46 amps to 60 amp battery also with 2.0 software upgrade..

Smart09 i just did it with a flashlight and everytime i would put the flashlight on the lights would turn off and vise versa.. maybe all of your systems have glitches but mine works perfectly.

Smart09 That's weird. I'm going to go try that out

SmartTech the problem is with the auto head lamps. if its dark and you shine a flash light one them the turn off and then when its dark again the lights turn back on. problem is it only does it the first time you can keep shining the light and the head lamps wont turn off. we had 6 cars (customers + 5 new) and all did the exact same thing, nothing

Smart09 the sensors work fine on my car too. Nevernhad
A Problem. I doubt they will ever take those options out. Once they are put in to a production they stay for the life of the car makingwhy would they downgrade from auto lights/ rain sensors to manual?

Brabus I wonder if the Smart car that I'm taking these parts off of will need to have the alarm and fog lights deactivated.

Only quirk I have with the auto wipers is I frequently have to activate them by flipping the switch as if they need to be waked up to start paying attention to the rain on the windshield, this only occurs when it starts raining. Although a previous Smart that I drove didn't have this problem, but it's a minor quirk.

I admit, I'm one of those people who didn't read the manual.

It works perfectly fine on my car, so I am not sure where you are basing this off of...

It was pulled due to issues with the bridge for heated mirror functions, and causing excessive battery draw when people did not follow the manual and left the wipers and lights in auto all of the time on the '09s.

Also, IIRC, I read that it is coming back...
