MikeB1 The rock idea could be big! If it's wrapped with velcro it becomes "adjustable"! (Maybe that feature should be introduced with the 2.0 model, six months after initial release...) Fred Flintstone could be the spokesperson.

And apparently there are enough stupid people out there to warrant this product's distribution at a major retailer. I was absolutely dumbfounded when I saw this on their shelves. At first I thought it was one of those "gag gifts" leftover from April Fool's Day... but the $50 price tag said otherwise.

I have a GREAT idea for a new product that I can GUARANTEE will save fuel for practically anyone in any car. How about a rock that you put behind the gas pedal that will prevent you from pushing the gas pedal down more than 3/4 of the way. Who wants to help sell it with me? $24.99 + shipping and handling.

But, it can make a huge difference in the manufacturer's MPG (Money Per Gullible).

jimvw57 so if you plug enough of them in, say maybe 4 or 5, it would actually make a big enugh difference to actually fill your tank???

Seriously, I doubt any electronic device plugging into the cigarette lighter can make any difference in MPG.

rfernatt I forgot about writing this - I should get a job writing infomercial scripts. I guess the FD-47 can be added to the list.

In addition to dramatic power and fuel efficiency gains, the Neo Socket offers these bonus features only in the smart fortwo!

- Don't let a low fuel gauge slow you down! The Neo Socket alters the molecular polarity of fuel in the tank such that 20 gallons of fuel will now fit in the 8.7 gallon tank and the fuel gauge will be accurate to within .01 ounces whether full or empty!
- No more shift lag! With its hypersensitive adaptive chronometric technology, the Neo Socket will cause gear changes to happen within 1 nanosecond or sooner! Some users have even reported precognitive transmission shifting - a gear change can occur before you even knew it was needed!
- Safely transporting that washer/dryer set or sheets of plywood is no longer a problem with Neo Socket! The innovative volumetric space distortion feature adds additional passenger and/or cargo room as needed!
- Flat tire got you flustered? It's no worries with Neo Socket! In the event of a flat tire, simply unplug the Neo Socket and attach it to the valve stem with the supplied adapter. The Neo Socket will produce a gelatinous fluid that will both inflate and permanently seal the tire regardless of the location or amount of damage!
- Pothole problem? Not any more! The pulse modulated shock dampening field of the Neo Socket dramatically improves ride quality by providing momentary anti-gravitational suspension across uneven surfaces!
- Tired of answering safety questions about semis? In the event of a frontal collision with a tractor trailer, the Neo Socket instantaneously transforms the Tridion cell into a depleted uranium casing capable of penetrating solid steel or slicing a semi in half!
- Roof crazing is a thing of the past with Neo Socket! Don't let unsightly crazing ruin your panoramic view, let Neo Socket's ultrasonic vibrations gently massage the Makrolon into crystal clear, like new condition!
- You can shine like a star! When oncoming vehicles flash their high beams unnecessarily, the Neo Socket is capable of generating a 1.21 gigawatt pulse through the smart headlamps. The resulting brightness is equivalent to an X45 solar flare and will effectively demonstrate the smart high beams to the other driver!
- Your vehicle security worries are behind you with Neo Socket! Vandals that attempt to tip or otherwise harm the car are rendered sterile in a most painful manner, solving both the immediate and future problems!
- Finally, the Neo Socket serves as the oracle of all smart knowledge! When questions about the smart arise within a 20 foot radius, the Neo Socket will "open the mind" with a direct neural link and implant the answer to common queries. Just imagine never having to answer the question "Is it electric?" while refueling or "Is it safe?" from a motorcycle rider!

Buy Neo Socket today!

MikeB1 Kinda reminds me of an old joke about a guy who thought that Preparation H was an oral medication, and told his friend "for all the good it did, I might as well have shoved it up my a$$."
