Possible hosting site...

I may know a possible hosting site.

It's a summer camp for kids just east of Richmond, near West Point, Virginia...

Kids all go back to school and camp shuts down August 15th...

275 acres, canoes, water on three sides...
Very peaceful, unbelievably quiet. Decent accommodations, nice great room and food.
Virginia Beach oceanfront an hour away...
Let me know and I will ask Michelle rates and dates..

ArthurRW I'd like to attend such an event, there's lots to see & do in the Hampton Roads area and although Myrtle Beach is a nice venue maybe it's overdone? As was mentioned, lots of other groups already hit M/B. Maybe we'd need to find a geographic center if we get all 3 smartcenters involved.

twick I'd be in for an East Coast Rally. Myrtle Beach would be a great place. They have several types of Rally there (motorcycles and cars). Last year I went down there and they were having a Mustang Rally. Anytime works for me

astuto What about Sept. 7th? It's between Labor Day and the Neptune Festival. The weather is still great. After season hotel rates. I would love to get a photo of smart cars lined up on the boardwalk. Caravan from the convention center. City would probably be more accomodating if it wasn't in tourist season. Even a month later, October 5, after Neptune would still be nice weather.

My thought are the same way but this is not going to be as big as the Dells rallies were, much more low key, but I wanted to get more dealer involvement to put this together.

In addition, I see this as a stellar opportunity to get the caravans planned from here because by then people will know who is going and who they can travel with.

It would be a 1 Day Event versus 2 days like usual.

wrumbarger Works for me.

Get in touch with the other two VA dealers (Richmond and Tysinger in Hampton) I will talk it up at mine in Tyson's Corner.

gstreetcomic Id be up for that one. I need a good excuse to go to Va Beach myself.

GetSmrt28277 Great idea! Location will be key...coastal event would offset the Dragon mountain runs. If motorcycles can take over Myrtle Beach, why can't the smarts take over VA Beach?

East Coast Regional Rally

I have been thinking this idea for quite sometime and hoping to see what the interest would be for other smart owners.

I want to steer clear of the other awesome events possibly happening in 2013.

April- Cherry Blossoms in DC
May/June- East Coast Regional Rally
July- Nationals in Dever
August- Tail of the Dragon

I would like to plan this for Late May or early June 2013.
*Note: Memorial Day is on the 27th of May next year. So maybe we could have it that weekend?

I don't know what kind of numbers to expect since I've never held a regional rally on the East coast, but something to do for a day or a long weekend. If you have been to my events before it will follow the same, relaxed but fun schedule.

Is this something you are interested in?
