Well it's been a fun almost five years with the smart, but like all things the end has come. I traded my smart last Monday for a new Chevrolet Sonic after 128,000 miles commuting in the smart. I hope everyone that loves their smarts continues to love them. Adios Smarties!
Well considering that this isn't a daily driver and we only use it on sunny days they are working fine. Twice since putting them on (about 6k miles) I have had the braking system go on. Once was in a real tight 90 degree turn. I guess I was reliving go-kart days, but I got into it hard and felt a front brake go on, but it didn't bother anything. The second time was in a dirt parking are and I did a hard 180 that also triggered a front brake. I grew up were we needed snow tires so I know why you are asking, but I'm afraid my experience with a smart in snow is nonexistent. One other little thing is that at the front edge of the front wheel opening there is a slight wear area that needs to be looked at hard to even see. However since snow tires sometimes have sharper edges that hang out more that would be something that would concern me.
