History
Was watching the smart car before they were being sold in the states. When they finally announced pricing and mpg, I lost interest. I thought it was too much money, and too little mpg. Then in the Summer of 2009, Barack Obama announced that he would allow me to trade my 1989 Chevy full size Blazer with 140,000 miles for $4500 on a smart. Now the price seemed right! But finances were tight, smart says $99 a month for 3 years, then the balance is due, problem solved!

Let me state that I was very offended that my government was scrapping perfectly usable older cars (including mine) and offering up my tax dollars to people to buy cars from any country in the world that qualified, to somehow "help" the American car makers. But I've paid a lot of taxes over the years, and wasn't going to miss a chance to benefit, for once, from a government plan to waste my money. Happy I did.

Suspension
Stock
Wheel and Tire
Black powder coated wheels. Bent one of the rears and ended up buying a set of stock tires/rims that I'm running now. I have another set of stock rims coming that will bring my collection to 5 good rears and 6 good fronts. I'll probably powder coat 4 of the stock rears and keep the bent one as a spare, then sell off the 6 fronts and 1 good rear.

Planning to go to all rear wheels, 185s in the rear, 175s in the front. Possibly powder coated 2 tone Red and Black.
