I get a hard 'clank' sound about 70% of the time when shifted into reverse. This definitely feels like the tranny is clanking.

Second clank sounds happen as I'm backing up. While in motion this clanking feels/sounds like its suspension related, the noise seems to come from underneath. While backing up I get two clanks.

Car seems fine except for the clanks. I bought the car used and am second owner. It had 60k miles and I had the scheduled 60k service done. They replaced the tranny switch at the time because car would not always go into reverse. The clanking isn't new, has been this way since I've had the car. I didn't remember to mention it when I had the work done.

Is clanking normal?

Needs to be looked at ..... possibly a software upgrade :D

This was a known problem with SOME of the early 09s :)

Thanks all,
I think it may be the motor mount. I don't know why i think this, but I do. The clank is inconsistent but I can bet on it happening if i'm on an uneven surface (even a very slight grade).
