Evening All

Well I took my Gray Smart to work and WOW, (I did not tell anyone I was buying one) parked in the same general vicinity as I usually do, and let the games begin Hee Hee Hee.

The operator actually paged for the Smart owner ( the division director wanted to chat:eek:), I then became obligated to give rides to the leaders of our division (maybe scoring myself a prime reserved parking spot in the front of the building, for show).

The questions were endless, everyone asked price (something I balk at), those who said they wanted 1 I gave the Ford dealers name to and told them they had 1 used (2K miles) and 2 new.

There is a learning curve driving this car and even though in Auto mode it does a good job, I found that during breaking and turning the car seemed a little confused (as to what gear it should be in), but I am sure I will work it out.

WOW does this have some ZIP to it (I became aggressive with the throttle), I just wish I had a tach, OOHH and as I went to pass a SUV on the high way (@70) they looked out their window, their jaws dropped, then the driver booted it (I guess there was some pride involved Hee Hee Hee).

So after the first day of driving, I am very pleased with my purchase (BUT not all the attention), and will do 3 things to the car 1: arm rest for my right arm, cruse control, and some kind of cushion for me left arm (I'm use to having both elbows resting on something soft while driving).

Well that was my first day:D

arm rest

Go to a breakers yard to get a right hand arm rest (I use a range rover one as it is adjustable)
Go to a trim shop and have a pair made up to suit the inner panel. If they dont understand tell them to look at the 2002-2005bmw E46 leather left arm panels.

How you feel inside the big cars jungle?
I try to imagine how is the smart into the big park places in USA.
I have the center arm rest into my smart but it was purchased from smart center in spain.
You can find smart parts by ebay, in UK and Germany.
On the other side there's a smart tuners in europe to ask for items.

I'm agree with Plum-crazy, you can find the right arm-rest on ebay cheapest than other places...but the left arm-rest...I think that you must make it yourself...
