Good morning all. My name is David Hickman and am new to site. This is my first ever forum site so please bear with me as I learn where to go......The reason I am here is to ask the Smart Minds where I can purchase a replacement rear Hatch Glass for my 2006 450 Passion. Mine shattered the other day.:nerd:

You might (longshot) find one doing an online search in the US, but I suspect you'll have better luck searching Canadian or Mexican sites. And there are always European sources if money is no object.

Will have to go OCONUS...FYE by the way.... The local Safelite dealer said no problem we can get one.....well after a few weeks they scheduled the install at the house and as he was unloading the hatch I said "nope not the right one" he looked at me and I pointed out that the one he had was mounted in a frame/housing and mine was just glass also his was larger. After he held up the glass to the rear of the car he scratched his head and said it should be the right one. I just laughed and said really? So he was able to get a number from the tinting which was on the shattered glass down in the corner (did not think of that). I guess the number transferred to the tint because of sun or something. Long story he called homebase and told them the news. They will try working the number they found and try again. LOL only me....I tried to tell them Euro 2006 Mercedes Benz 450 Smart for Two Passion.

UPDATE!!

Well the Safelite tech was unable to locate a rear glass for the car. I am back to square one. Any other guidance would be helpful I tried looking at a few Canadian sites but no luck yet. The European guy I ordered my engine fuel pump said his company did not want to ship one due to it being fragile and very costly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Still looking:shrug:

David, if you cant locate one.. dont sweat it yet...
I may be able to help. a number of 450 were brought in FLA, and I have connections with a yard locator who has found parts for other 450s... let me ask around .. it may take a week or two as he is currently on vacation.

What I was thinking if anybody has a 2006 450 Passion if they can look for a number on the glass that may help in identifying the part?? My glass shattered and there were bits and pieces of the DOT #

Yours is the only car in this thread. I put your VIN into the EPC and that's what it gave me.

Any luck on locating a glass, I found a place in Ft. Lauderdale (PartsBase.com) but they are membership only and specialize primarily in aircraft parts. their number is: MERCEDES Q 0001378V009C41A00 GLASS PANE . I am still waiting on a reply of who is one of their distribution members. Do not think I will have any luck there.
