Hi everyone. Quick question.
I'm looking at purchasing a 2008 cabrio with 92000 miles.
How many miles can the smart last?
Thank you

Before you purchase, have reputable auto mechanic, go through the car. Take a look at all the past service records, from the past. If the past owner, taken good care of the car. you’ll get good, service out of it.

good luck with you decision

Half of my smarts have over 100k miles and run absolutely beautifully. These cars are remarkably robust so long as you keep up on basic maintenance. I second what smark said. Have someone look at it if you can.

And depending on where you live, don't pay more than say, $4k.

Mine had a few more miles when I purchased it and aside from some surprise initial repairs I have been very happy with it. You have to expect that a 12 year old car with 100k miles will need certain repairs, suspension bushings, tie rods, ball joints, etc. It's always possible it'll crap out one day, but that goes for any car as it ages. I would expect 200k from any modern motor that's properly taken care of.

Take heed of the key fobs mentioned, they're not cheap to have setup and if you lose the last one, recovery is very, very expensive.
