when i installed a pusher fan to replace OEM puller fan i had to remove the bumper bar, and i unplugged/replugged one of the airbag sensors in order to remove the bar.

now the airbag warning light is on. can i turn it off? if i can't turn it off, are the airbags still functional?

If any of the sensors or indicators in the airbag circuit are disconnected and the ignition is turned on, the airbag system will need to be reset with a MB Star Diagnostic or similar system. This includes the bumper sensors, seats, airbag connections, seat weight sensors, or the indicator lamp near the dome light.

If your airbag light SRS light is on, the system is non-functional.
surprise, surprise.... i just found out i could turn the airbag light off with my Autel MS906 diagnostic scanner.

possibly the fault code being present prevented the light from being turned off. a scan of all the airbag sensors indicated that they were all working (and possibly functional) in spite of what the DIC light would seem to indicate, SO i cleared the code(s) and the DIC light is now out; hopefully until the next oops...
