2009 Radio - Plugs on back?

1041 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  rigacci
I am replacing my radio with a touchscreen radio but when I removed the original equipment, I see there is a yellow plug above the other two black plugs.

Would anyone know what that yellow plug is for and how I can use them with the new radio that does not have that?

It looks like I can merge some of the wires with the plug below it but if I don't need the yellow plug, then I would let it go and not worry.

I have searched but can't find much info on it. The radio I am removing is a Vesteon 6CD changer, made in Portugal but was OEM in the Smart in 2009.

Thanks for any info.

Beautiful. Thanks very much. I believe the new one does have an Aux, external, on the front. So, this should not be needed.

That's great news!
