Any inexpensive scanner should be able to scan for a generic code then clear it to reset the light. If the issue persist the check engine light should return.
Welcome to the forum. I wouldn’t be driving you car, with a solid engine light. My advice would be, having it towed to a MB dealership, or a good automotive repair shop. even if you had a code scanner. You might not know how to fix the codes.
