Hello everyone. I recently purchased a used smart fortwo and it has been excellent so far. However, I have ran into an issue with the latch on the rear window where it is supposed to lock in place on the tailgate. Well, it's not catching or locking. It seems like a pretty easy fix, but I can't figure out where to buy the assembly from. I have called around to a few dealers and only one works on the smart car. I found a private dealer, but he charges 150 an hour for labor alone! I wanted to give it a try myself. Does anyone have any info on where to find the parts required and maybe a how to video? I am located near San Diego, CA if that helps. Thank you all for your help!

Have you tried looking into it and seeing if it might be an adjustment issue?

Thank you Jwight! I have tried manually moving the catcher for the latch, and I can, however, it doesn't stay. There is no way for me to hold it in place while the hook feeds in. So I think it is just worn.
