My fiance has a 2013 smart 4+2 with only 30k miles. Car died and dealer says crank pulley is broken and spewing oil. Dealer says engine replacement.

Can the crankshaft pulley be replaced at a reasonable costs? Or time to go car shopping?

Very disappointed with smart car quality.

What in the world is a smart 4+2?
I fail to see how a broken crank pulley would allow oil to leak. I'm guessing the crank pulley is slipping and the front crank seal is the issue. Although I've never taken apart a smart engine.
