2013 smart For Two Passion $5500 Neg - 23k Miles (Tech/Comp Package) CA Salvage

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forums but wanted to post my 2013 smart For Two Passion for sale. I bought this car with 7k Miles from a friend of mine; making me the third owner. It now has roughly 23k and may increase due to me driving. The smart car has been a dream for me in the Bay Area, especially when parking. The car has the Tech/Comp Package including Navi, Heated Seats, and Leather Seats. Also has the LED Daytime Running Lights. Exterior wise the car is in great condition with only a small scuff on the driver side door; by the edge. The interior is in great condition also. A little history on the car, it was bought in the auction with a salvage title but it ended up being a broken shifter. It has never been in an accident.

I have done two oil changes at the dealer since owning the car. The tires and brakes are still good. The reason I am selling this car is because I just purchased a bigger car and will eventually not need this car anymore. I am asking $5,500 for the car and I am negotiable. The car is in great condition and if you swing by to see it you will not be disappointed. The car is located in San Francisco, CA. Pm me for serious inquiries.

Looks like a nice little car. Comfort package, navigation, etc. Call your insurance company. Ask them what your salvage smart car is worth. None of the common appraisal companies, can quote a salvage vehicle. What did you pay for it salvage? The price below, is your milage, equipment. Etc. Good condition, not salvage...

Any suggestions on price?
Normally, i try to stay out of these threads, but since you asked, i will offer some information.
Right now there are a large number of 2015 "car2go" smarts for sale on the used market. Most have 50-300 miles on them, and have the heated leather seats and nav. They do not have the alloy wheels. They do not have a salvage title, come with factory warranty, and are selling for $8-9K. There are plenty of opinions as to how much a salvage title devalues a car. 20% is not out of line. Based on Steves KBB screen capture, your smart is probably worth somewhere around $5K. Depreciation has not been kind to us, which is why i am keeping my 2013 for a long time.

One wouldn't normally get a salvage title from a broken shifter, especially on a car that still has factory warranty. I'm also curious.

As far as price goes, I'd say you're looking at around $5,000. Salvage titles and three owners in such short time will make it a hard sell for many folks out there. :(

I'm not trying to be smart but how do you get a salvage title from a broken shifter? Also, you say you bought it having a salvage title. How much did you pay for it?
My guess is that the insurance company thought it was a transmission issue but infact it was a Broken Shifter. I paid $7k for the car and thought I was getting a steal. Guess not judging by all of the posts I am getting.

Just bought a 2015 Car2Go smart, 260 miles, $7900. Smooth and quiet compared to my '08. Happy......
