I have a 2013 Sharp Red that I'm trying to run down a blower motor problem. The motor just stopped and won't operate on any of the fan settings. I bought a new motor but it still doesn't work. I have read the threads on blower motor problems. I have tried wiggling wires with no luck. I took the resistor pack out but I don't know how to check it to see if it is fried or what the resistance readings should be. I thought I would take out the temperature control unit to see if the blower speed selector had an issue. I figured that should be an easy continuity check. I got the radio out without any problems but the dash cover has the control trapped. I looked for how to remove the cover but I can only find information for the earlier dash like my 2008 had. I don't want to break anything trying to figure it out . Can anyone show/tell me how to remove it?

After 2011 they added this upper dash cover. The earlier ones just had a plastic cover over the A/C control. Even Alldata doesn't show the later version. All the DIY instructions only show how to do the early version. To get at this one you have to remove a one piece cover that goes all the way across the entire car. That is what I need to know how to remove.

On the early version you only had to take off the radio surround to get access tho the A/C control.

Here you go:

Dash tear-down

Everything you need to know to remove the dash. Have fun.
Gearhead, many thanks to you for finding this, but again this is the dash with the removable center, my dash is all one piece. and many of the mounting screws in the link are in accessible on my dash.

Someday I hope to figure it out and then I will upload my findings.:)

Hi Mike,
I do have the same problem, have you figured out how to get the A/C controller module out? Would be great if i could a hint.

I have a 2008, so I'll just speculate here as it looks to have a similar dismantle procedure like you were removing the radio; but instead of two pieces, now the center stack is a singular form.

I would start by removing the button cluster (lock, unlock, etc.). Make sure to shimmy BEHIND the logic board as to not remove only the button faceplate. I suggest using a small plastic pry bar. Once that is removed (just a good tug), there is a set torq screw for the plastic trim that houses the radio/AC controls. Unscrew that and you should be able to unsnap the surround trim from the bezel. It's probably a good idea to use a plastic pry bar here as well to not damage the plastic trim, starting from the top and working your way down.

From there you should be able to access the AC controller. The AC controller should be held in place with one or two torq screws (can't remember, but they're right at the front and easy to see). Once those are undone, you can just tug it out. Be careful about pulling too hard, as the wires behind the controller are short. Once you unclip the wiring harnesses (2), you'll also need to give the vent selector cable a good tug to pull the entire controller out.

If you're savvy, the entire AC controller can be dismantled and cleaned/re-greased if that's all that's wrong. Just be careful to gently pry up the left and right selector clips to separate them from the housing.

Again, the trim removal is speculative given it just looks like they fused the two panels together and everything else just pops off with pressure clips. Just be careful when dismantling.

Hope this helps!
