Thanks, mines is under warranty so I think I'm going to take it in and see if they cover it for free

Honestly, I can't think of the name, but it has gears inside the boot that allow the steering to swivel. I don't think that's where you're leak started because the gears are lubed with a thick grease, and not a liquid. And when the beveled portion of the boot becomes cracked, due to weather, which is generally around 100,000 miles or so, dirt gets inside it and there's a click click noise whenever you make a sharp turn. I'd go to a mechanic and let him find the leak.

Hello Everyone,

I want to post an update. I'm at the dealer and they say this is a documented issue with smart cars. Everything was fixed free of charge. The issue is called a leaking axel seal.
