They are probably retired Car2Go smart cars. They are equipped differently then the trim versions of the 451s that you would normally acquire. Most but not all have Passion wheels, Pure Steering wheel with no paddles, and often the glove box doors have been deleted. There are other differences as well.

Sometimes I wonder if smart sold these cars to themselves to pump up sales. Seems weird many of them don't even get many ticks over 100 miles.
c2g San Diego (where it started 5 years ago) and St. Paul/Minneapolis were shut down the end of 2016.
Appears that it may have been an abrupt closure and as these c2g smarts must be "purpose built" they were likely already in the pipeline or on the dock in the U.S.?

And c2g sez, "as of March 10th, the mileage limit will change from 150 miles per trip to 150 miles per day. This means if you have a rental open for multiple days, the miles you travel will reset to zero after each 24-hour period."

Makes sense, actually. These were new cars to be delivered and probably never saw more than a couple days of service before C2G closed up shop. I'm just still amazed to see they're still out there and apparently in decent numbers! Compelling reason for someone to opt for a deeply discounted 451.

Last fall I had 2 guys at work ask me about my smarts and about a week later, they both started driving theirs to work. One was white with silver trim, the other was white with Yellow trim. Both were car2go cars and had less than 300 miles on them I believe they were right around $9k and had some nice options, leather seats, nav, etc. Bought from the dealer in Rochester, Mn

There are some great deals out there, when I purchased mine last September the range I found was from $7400-$10000 depending on location.
I purchased a 2015 Pure (Ex-Car2Go car) with only 24 miles on it and no rental hardware in it for $8000. It has a few more options than my old Pure... leather heated seats, NAV with bluetooth and power windows. The dealer I went to had 8 or so of them, a couple had rental hardware and more miles on them but most were like mine with around 20 miles on them.

Ah snap, I also forgot about those 10 mile examples! Not sure why I don't remember any of this. :| I swear I mentioned the massive inventory of Car2Gos for sale everywhere.
Yours is like my favourite example. The Darwins look so good on it!

My buddy works at MB Annapolis, went and looked at the new 453 yesterday just for fun, I'm not in the market, they are really nice. One day in a few years when I can find one for a steal I will add one of those to the garage too.

It would sell if they lowered the price by $1000 and removed those cheesy wheel covers. The price of the car was $9950 until they spent $7 for those wheel covers.

Ha! I bought my Smart at the Duncan Hyundai dealership in Christiansburg VA. They had a bunch that I'm assuming were for C2G. I have the heated vinyl seats, auto wipers, power steering, Highline audio system, bass box under the seat, all weather floor mats, power windows, and steelies. I bought it at the end of December with 20 miles on the clock. My bank considered it a new car as long as I bought it before 2017. So I got amazing financing, and it was on the lot for 8 Grand. I did pay the full price. As soon as 2017 hit, they lowered the price to 7,400. I'd say a very good deal for a practically brand new car. Still with factory warranty that I had to use for the stereo system.
Bought a 2015 Car2go with 60 miles on it yesterday at a Portland Lexus dealer for $6800. They had six a few weeks ago and three yesterday. I had a 2008 and a 2014 and have been without a smart for over a year and glad to have one again, especially at this price.
