My 2016_ED charge door does not lock so I assume prior owner
cut off the locking tab or some such. "A feature not a defect".

Yup, I just cut the lock latch off my charge door - a useless vestigal relic of the gas version. Then again, the lock did provide some protection against vandalism by someone "opposed" to EVs and small cars. I had a guy at my workplace who engaged in a degree of micro-hostility toward my ED.

Why are people like that??!! I’ve had SO MANY bullies over the years! I think these are the same people who bend kittens tails and kick puppies. People like this are gross. Literally gross.

No, they are probably fine with puppies. I work for a US federal agency that regulates (i.e. is part of) the coal industry, and many of my co-workers see EV's and/or simple, small forms of personal transportation as a reminder that we must stop using fossil-fuel energy, and therefore a threat to their livlihoods and their beloved big pickup trucks, UTV and ATV's.
