I saw your sale and was happy you got that for it. The market is so whacky right now I have no idea what to expect. They've got older higher mileage Smarts (gas) going for $15,000+ right now on all the major auto wholesalers (Vroom, Carvana, etc.). I talked to a guy form an out of state dealership and he said they can't get to auctions fast enough to purchase. The bigs come in fast and gobble them all up.

Dealers are terrible with trade-in vehicles!

A few years ago I had decided to trade in two cars towards a newer single vehicle at a dealership about an hour’s drive from my home. Combined, they had a KBB value of about $15k. The dealer offered me $1500 for one and $2000 for the other. The vehicle I wanted to buy was $17k and I would have paid the balance in cash. Based on the salesman’s comments, they assumed since I had driven so far to look at the newer vehicle, the sale was a slam dunk. I told the salesman that he was out of his mind and I would have to be crazy to “give” them two cars, then showed them a photo of a vehicle identical to one of my trade-ins, but with 30,000 miles more than mine on a lot 500 yards down the road for $8000. I told him $1500 was an insult. Two days later, they had the nerve to call me an tell me that had made a “mistake” on my vehicle appraisals and wanted me to come back out to the dealership again to renegotiate.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that they dealerships need to turn a profit to stay in business, but I’m my estimation, they can make their money on the sale of the new car OR under valuing the trade in, BUT NOT BOTH! I can’t stand dealership games.

On another occasion a different dealership asked me to give them a credit card so “they could check my credit.” Stupidly, I gave it to them. Two hours later, they were just wasting my time knowing that if I left the lot, their chances of making a sale would drop rapidly. I finally called the police to report a stolen credit card. The police were NOT amused at their tactics.

From what I’ve heard, Caravana is no different. I get it that they need to front the transportation costs, detailing and make repairs, but sometimes the offers are ridiculously out of touch.

There is more money to be made by dealerships on trade-ins than new cars. It's insane. They really don't make much on new inventory. I also have acquaintances in the banking sector and they have endless horror stories about Carvana and how they really do business. Considering it was started by an ex-felon who got popped in the Charles Keating Savings & Loan affair, kinda' figures. Ernest Garcia II (and his son, Ernest Garcia III) . The commercials, GREAT! The end result, liquid assets moved nationally however they can no matter what happens to the vehicle or the purchaser in the process. Shifty.

Android radio unit installed but I have the original Smart radio. It is mint. They are plug and play to swap out.
Door speakers have been upgraded. I still have stock speakers.
Tires have roughly 2000 miles on them.
*Photos will show one chip in windshield and pebble/rock impact marks on hood/bumper (Our city just loves to pave and we have grit/gravel in the air!)

No problem at all! Happy to answer as many questions as you have. No moon roof. It's the hard top. Top looks like a hard black etched semi-gloss material. A poor man's version of carbon fiber.
