The owners manual index has a listing for "Battery (vehicle)." On page 169, under the jump starting procedure, the manual illustrates where the battery is located and mentions "Open the service cover"

That being said, the manual could have used an illustration of the location of various underhood items, around page 22 where the location of interior items is shown. :)

Like the other folks said it's under the bonnet on the passenger's side. I'll 100% do a change on the 453s any day over the 451s. The "surgery" to remove is way less. Plus if you get one from an Auto Area parts it's way cheaper than an MB replacement. I installed battery tender connectings so as to keep the trickle to tickle the electrolyte.

I agree... I'd even switch it over to an AGM style battery. 0:)
I am looking for some information on changing the Battery, it looks like need to remove lots of parts. I know its located under the hood.

I have changed a couple, nothing complicated . You do have to remove the fresh air intake cover that hangs out partially blocking the area where you lift it out. No big deal, has 3 or 4 pushpins holding it on, remove that, the battery connections, and hold down, and then it lifts right out.
I know that Walmart and Sam's both carry the type 47 that our 453's.
