It's been my experience that this is the beginning of tourist season, and motel rooms are hard to find, and very expensive, has any arrangements been made for motel reservations? I was in Rapid City this same time last year.

So excited. We were there a couple of years ago during Wild Bill Days. The town had a free concert downtown and it was Blood, Sweat, and Tears. The town has trollies to transportt you to places. This will be a fun rally!!!

Indianapolis - Deadwood caravan

It would be a long two days from Indy to Deadwood, or an easier two and a half days with two overnight stops. Personally I'm planning on taking 2.5 days for the trip.

I'm impressed with the distances people are driving. I don't think I could drive LA to BH/SD without a spare tire.

When in Custer, have breakfast or lunch at Baker's Cafe in the center of town. Probably the best breakfast I've ever had.

We will be carrying spare tires. In the 451, they easily fit behind the driver's or passenger seat. One of our members who will not be caravanning with us, has a 453 Proxy with the sport package. He was able to secure another rim but cannot obtain a tire that will match the fitment that is on his vehicle. Apparently, the Continental tires are a special size and only utilized by smart cars with the sport package. Finding a good place to store a spare tire may also be more of a challenge in a 453.
