Last week I phone ordered an oil filter for my 17 cab as an oil change is getting close. I mentioned to the parts guy that it should be the same filter as the 16 as the 17's are so new and they may not have one in stock. He told me that the filter for the 16 & 17 models are different. What's up with that? I thought that they were the same engine.
had the oil changed. used the filter they sent me. will order another one in 8k miles. can look & see if I still have the invoice for a part # if you need it.
Anybody happen to know what oil filter one might be able to pick up for a 453 if one were to travel to their local Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts... or Amazon?
This thread is about oil filters for the 453, however this week I was at Smart Gainesville and picked up more oil filter, and picked up engine air filters and cabin filters also. The engine air filter is Smart part # 281-094-00-00, cost me 15.50 and tax each. The cabin filters are Smart part # 453-835-03-00 and they were (ouch) 35.50 each.
I had them give me a print out on oil drain plug and oil filter torques and as previously stated on this thread they are 50fp and 25fp respectively.
The MB engine designation code is 281.910
