Last year we met at the Greene Leafe (4345 New Town Ave., Williamsburg, VA 23188) for lunch at 11:30 on May 15th. After lunch we will travel on the Jamestown-Scotland ferry to College Run Farms to pick strawberries.
We had a good deal of fun last year but I would like to see more Smarties this year. arty:
Please indicate if you are interested. If it rains, we can still have lunch and take the ferry boat over and back.
Anyone interested for the same this year?
Meet Saturday, the 14th of May, 11:30 AM for lunch and on from there. This could also be called "Take your smart out for lunch" thing.
All smarties are welcomed.
Yes Eric, you Yankees from the north are also invited. You just have to remember, down in our neck of the woods, when we eat, we leave our manners outside until the appropriate time.
C U then.
Elaine & I are a go, this time w/ two smarts. Btw, I'm trying to get a ride from Smithfield to Yorktown last Saturday in May if anyone's interested. I've got a thread going about it.
I am so glad you got the this going this year. I have been out of the loop lately. I am now working in Richmond and have little time to plan things. Anyway, Roger and I will be there.
Yes, the food was fit for human consumption and we could park with the rear wheels at the curb for plenty of smarties. I will call to reserve an area for us around the 10th to let them know how many of us will be there. So sound off if your time permits.
It would appear that maybe 5 smarts will be showing up this Saturday. All smarts are welcomed. If you just want to do lunch, that is fine. If you just want to do the ferry boat ride, that is fine. Or if you just want to pick some strawberries and have some ice cream, that is also fine. Your call, your time. The establishment would not like to have 35 people show up without waiter/waitress support.
C U there.
We have a new member, sound like near VaBch but doesn't have a smart yet, hope you don't mind but I invited her to come. I figure she could talk to some of us about our cars. She likes to work on cars too!
My directions to the ferry boat landing may not be the best. Would someone who is more familiar with the area like to take the lead on this one. I would be most willing to bring up the rear. Maintaining Absolute Ridgid Flexibility.
C U there.
I forgot about the reduced capacity at the ferry until I read a post for the Memorial Day ride. The Pocahontas ferry is out of service. This may cause delays in crossing tomorrow.
:nighty:
We had a great time at the G/L and picking strawberries today guys. 3 couples and 4 smarts made for a great fellowship session. We're ready for next year!
