I searched but I'm sure I could have dug more. Nevertheless, I'm looking answers to the following.

1. Are all 450 gas powered cars turbocharged from the factory?
2. Is it relatively easy to replace a 0.6l engine with a 0.7l?
3. Is it possible to put a 1.0l turbo engine from a 451 in a 450? If so, how big of a job is it?
4. Can I make 100bhp on a 0.6 or 0.7 with just an electronic tune?
5. Can I gain hp on a 0.6 or 0.7 by messing with mechanical things like the wastegate or a bigger turbo with no tune?

1. All 450s are turbocharged, even the diesel
2. 0.6l to 0.7l would require the SAM, ECU and wiring from the 0.7l
3. same as #2 but the 1.0l turbo was only available in Europe
4. no
5. the 0.6 was weak in bhp; Brabus tuned 'their' limited run 450s both electronically and mechanically - it was basically the roadster engine and turbo (0.7l, 60 kw turbo) in a 450

Thank you very much for the reply. I live in Ukraine so I've seen 1.0t cars here. Regarding a 450 1.0t swap, is it a bolt in affair? The 451 engines were made by Mitsubishi were they not? If it is a bolt in that would imply that the chassis, at least in the engine area, is the same 450 and 451, correct? What about 450 vs 451 transmissions? Are they more or less the same? Bell housing pattern the same as well?

There isn't a lot of maintenance technical information out there, but I ran across this 451 overview of service manual that might have something that helps you:
That's a wonderful piece of documentation there.
I'd love to find something like that for my 453 now.

[Edit: Found it! Searched for the same document with "453" and found it on some Russian site. It's in English too.]
