Hello,
New owner of a 2015 Smart Pure. Searched for over 1 year to find a one owner with service records and been kept in a garage. Harder than planned but it was worth the wait/time/having to travel 500 miles to pick it up.

My gas struts on the rear window hatch are getting weak. They still hold the hatch up but can tell they towards the end of their life.

Called Smart Madness but they did not have the 2 struts. Anybody have a source and what size to order?

The Stubilus ones are exact as the factory ones, they used to be labeled as sachs and now Stabilus, even if they’re manufactured in Asia now, but thiey is are the same if you want to be as close or the same as the factory ones. Can’t tell anything about the other brands, as I kept swapping all with sachs/Stabilus for my smart and other cars

I paid was quoted $18.00 for the set from a shop near me he said he got them from a MB dealer near by. I gave the shop owner $25.00 because they were ready when I got there. 10 min install. I didn't want to wait for deliver as I changed mine the day they failed. Or I would have ordered from amazon.

All auto supply stores carry a wide range of strut sizes.

Mine always act up in the winter. You might wait until warmer weather to see if they "come back to life"

I live in Florida and we are not famous for our cold weather. The struts are original to my 2009. In warm weather they are fine but on cooler days they need replacement.
