Unfortunately, the US spec smarts were never offered with that option. I have seen a few US cars with the conversion done.

Hi,

they were also very rare here - they were first introduced with the way overpriced Ultimate 112/120 models and later became the most expensive option for FL and/or DRL combination. Remnants are still available in small quantities for the original 500€ (plus installation) - I bought mine used for far less. But they are very practical - with DRL my Smart is no longer overlooked by other road users without losing the benefits of fog lights.

Out of curiosity, how are these DRLs mounted? I didn't notice mounting points behind the grill when I had mine off, but I wasn't looking for them either. Is the small hole to the upper right of light for adjustment? By the way my grill is different. It is one piece with bezels in the ends.

There is a mounting bracket , on which the light units are mounted - the units are adjustable with small screws.
