It's about time to replace the hatch struts on my 2009 coupe. The local M/B dealer has them for $52.00 each and E Bay and Amazon has them for about $21.00 a pair to about $36.00 a pair. Anyone have any suggestions about what they bought for replacements and how much they spent. Thanks in advance.

A few days ago, when my struts would not hold the hatch up, it was fairly cold for Florida, about 38 degrees. I opened it again today, temp in low 70's, it stayed up like the old days. I am still going to replace them, though.

Yeah, but even simplier, buy a set with more lift pressure, my recent set worked at 5f which has been the coldest here so far.

Thanks for posting this. I have one of the first smarts delivered to Dallas Tx (2008). Maybe, I need to order me a set to have on hand.
