You need to see if there are any stored or pending codes and start from there.My smart has about 70k miles. Last year on a small road trip the traction control light would turn on and the car would have a slight pull to the right. It would go off for a while when i power cycled the car. But eventually it started happening every time i drive it. It would start off fine but about 15 minutes into the drive it would turn on. I basically just drove it like this for a year or so. I have recently replaced it with an electric mustang but kept the smart to play around with. Now that i don't rely on it daily i have the time to take it apart. The ABS light does not turn on and has never turned on. So i hesitate to say its ring reluctor. Any ideas about what to peruse?
