I have the go pedal in my '09 Brabus, although I've heard some say 'just mash the pedal more', believe me, you can definitely feel a difference, yes it's expensive, but if you like toying around with your Smart like I do then it's worth it.

The go pedal unit changes the mapping of the acceleration signal from the accelerator pedal. Simply 'mashing on the pedal' is not the same thing. It does make a difference. And it makes the lag you feel at a stop light go away. I don't have the Go Pedal unit, but have the remapping software on the AreA451 cruise, same thing and it is a lot of fun!!

I have this version of your Gopedal and I love it. However, the protect mode does not completely stop my car from moving. It only slows to a turtle crawl. Is there an adjustment I need to make? I have a 451. Also, can you post instructions on setting up the personal mode? I cannot figure it out. Thank you for your help.

I know they do. But the thing works for me and it’s not the current one they sell. I want them to know what I’m talking about so I’m posting on the thread for my model.

I do have an answer to one of your questions. The Protect mode only disables pedal input. It does not completely immobilize the car. What you're experiencing is what we've been calling "creep mode" since 2008 or so. It's not a function of the throttle pedal, so the GoPedal can't stop it.

Creep mode is unique to North American 451s because Smart thought that having it would make things more familiar to Americans driving automatics.

The easiest way to temporarily kill creep mode is by moving the handbrake up a notch. You could also find a way to make the computer think that there's an ABS or ESP fault. For whatever reason, currently stored fault codes for the active safety systems cause creep mode to turn off, and the car drives like its European counterparts.

So far as I'm aware, that's by design. The GOPedal can't stop creep mode, just kill pedal input. So if someone steals your car, they're stuck running away from you at 5 mph.

I’m pretty happy with it but I think this ad they have says it won’t move at all. But either way, I’m pretty happy that my version still has it because the new ones don’t seem to have it.
