I'm wondering and hoping that maybe someone has a crashed or broke down 453 that they are parting out. I'm looking for a pair of a pillars that have either tweeters stock or no tweeters at all. I want to flush mount tweeters I have and would like to have a backup in case I screw up. If I could find pillars with tweeters stock (JBL type) even sweeter. Now I'll just sit back and wait for the rush of replies. Thanks all.

You can buy the covers on Ebay UK, (assume also on Ebay USA) here is example of covers + tweeters, and example covers only. NOTE: they only fit on 453's with electric mirrors, as manual mirrors have an adjustable stalk that gets in the way.

Many of the owners on the Facebook 453 forum have said they found the wiring was there for the tweeters just behind the cover, but some have said it was not on theirs, so not sure of the reason why wiring is there for some, but not others. Its a case of taking the cover off and looking.

When you look at the numbers sold for both of those you have to wonder why almost 900 people are replacing those parts...

It might have to optional upgraded JBL radio that offered. Is there, Extra tweeter speaker outputs, on the base radio head.

Also is there wiring too. That goes for the optional subwoofer back In the cargo area.

Wires were there for mine, I ordered the JBL tweeters from a seller on EBay in the UK, received them about a week and half later and installed them in less than 30 min. just a plug and play. And no the wires for the subwoofer are not run to the back nor are the wires for the rear speakers. I did not follow through on the rear speakers because to run the wires from the front door speakers the outer skin of the doors need to be removed and I didn't want to tear the car apart just to add 2 more speakers.
