I am looking for an AGM battery for my 2016 Smart Electric. Someone posted that they put a AGM Optima R34 red top in their 2010 gas. Anyone know if that will work or if not any other recommendations. According to optima website they don't make a battery that is for my car.

Red Top will work on/in any car as long as the dimensions are the same size of battery as the battery you are replacing under the carpet...

I realize that but was trying to find a particular battery number that someone might’ve used already.

Optimas don't come in a lot of sizes, and only three terminal types. The 'car' size is designed to fit most applications, and they make a much larger one for trucks. BTW, the blue ones (marine) have dual top terminals.



Break out your tape measure, and make sure the terminals and cables would couple OK.

Should be able to source an AGM battery in the proper size for your car. Optima isn't your only choice. Try your local parts store.

Note that both the 451 ICE and ED show the same M-B part # 451-982-00-08 or H5-47.

Also, the 453 starter battery M-B part # 453-982-00-08 is NOT compatible with H5-47.
