Manual box, or the slower DCT?
That "slower" DCT I take with a grain of salt. After having driven both, I highly doubt every single trip in the car, every single shift, every single time, will you accelerate .4 of a second faster in the manual than you will the DCT.

The DCT is just fine. It will occasionally hiccup similar to its single clutch predecessor, but it's not a problem by any stretch of the imagination IMO. And it usually only happens at low speeds in 1st gear. Which is exactly what gives most people in a traditional manual problems as well. That's the life of owning a clutch based transmission.

I was just thinking that a speed shop like SM would be into the fastest possible drivetrain. In any case, it will be interesting to see what they, Renault Sport and BRABUS can do with it.

It might already be tuned up. It's not a slow shifting trans by any stretch of the imagination.

I read somewhere Boris has already installed the GoPedal for the 453 on his new car. He said it really made a difference with the low speed lag.

Did not see this thread until today.

We purchased 2 cars for development. The White one pictured is now customized and on display at smart Center West Covina. If you are in the area stop by the dealership and check it out.

Both cars have the DCT. We drove both versions and honestly felt the DCT was the better choice. Almost every car we own is a manual, but this DCT made us go away from the manual.

Yes, we have a new GOPedal for the 453 and a new ECU module. The two upgrades make a HUGE difference. We also added our new springs, a Carlsson Body Kit and exhaust along with some other trim pieces.

If you are in the So California Area stop by our shop and we will gladly take you for a drive so you can see first hand on just how much better the car is with the upgrades.

If you are visiting a local studio in So Cal be sure to stop by the West Covina store and check out our White one on display. Seeing it and driving it against a stock 453 is really an eye opener.

A BIG Thank you to Kamaal for the excellent customer service!
