my ’16 prime is having a tail ligh issue. Both are out. Brake lights work. Turn sig and reverse lights work and are regular bulb. Taillights and brake lights are LEDs. Smart calls it partial LEDs. It’s not a fuse. I was thinking relay but not sure which one? Anybody with any ideas? Mercedes wants 200 dollars for just diagnostics says warranty voided because of rear view camera I installed. Yes I removed it to see if that was my issue it’s not. Mercedes wanted to looked at dash fusebox that why I’m thinking relay. HELP PLEASE.

Gas or electric? 2016 electric model is 451, gas model is 453.
My 2016 Prime (453, gas, DCT) tail lights are all regular light bulbs (i.e. non LEDs).
The only LEDs on my car when I bought it, is the daylight running light (DRL) and the "accent light" in the footwell. Not sure about the 3rd brake light (haven't checked)
May be you can switch them back to regular bulbs to confirm the wiring/power.

Thanks. Some models have led tail and brake lights. Called partial LEDs. In the owners manual. Got fuse and relay layout. Think it has to do with automatic headlights they only come on after started. Even with key to full power position no automatic headlights unless started. Not normal. Trying to find out which relay to start with. Thanks again.

Something I noticed. High beams flash (pull lever) when key in on position (not running) but won't come on when lever on (lever pushed) the daytime front running lights come on. ??? The running lights don't come on when u pull the lever. ??? When car is running high beams work okay. ??? I changed headlight bulbs to a cool white bulb b4 I started experiencing these problems. Got em from Amazon no brand name. Gonna try putting old bulbs back in tomorrow or buying a better set at the auto parts store. Any recommendations?

Hi Steve, was wondering what the issue was. i have a 2016 , the brake lamps along with with all other tails work , however when parking lights are on , the tail light wont light up , but if i press the brake they work.

Couple months ago the left brake light went out twice, but so far the new LED bulb i installed is holding up, just cant figure out the no tail light on when park light is on.

How did you fix it? People have the same fault, but you haven't put how to resolve it, just that you fixed it? Can you explain how you did it, please.

It was a short. When I installed rear view camera I guess I tapped into wrong wire. They told me they had to dig to find it (at least that what they said) camera is now powered by cigarette lighter port. So checks in the mail, right?
