Is there any way to disable the head lights from turning on when you lock / unlock the doors? I have HIDs and its killing the bulbs. Im going to switch back to halogen if there is no way.

I have to check the manual, but yes there is a way. Be righhhhhht back!

ETA: And I'm back, apparently you cannot turn them off. Huh.

You can disabled the chirping, but as MM said, not the lights.

Thanks, A for effort! Guess back to halogen. These HIDs are just not made for flipping on and off quickly. Maybe leds?

LEDs will work. FWIW I have the autolight feature on my 451 and despite 5+ years and 135,000 miles, the coming home function has yet to kill my cheap eBay HIDs.

Is this standard on all smarts or only ones with alarm? My 2013 locks silently and it drives me nuts.

he chirp only works if you have an alarm system (factory installed) There were instructions about adding a beeper to the gas cap lock so it would make noise when it gets locked or unlocked.
