Hello all,

I have a 2005 450; if you also have one you probably also got the letter from the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair that our cars are no longer exempt. Problem is, I've been told that the very special technicalities of the Mercedes OBDII monitors require a very specific, nearly impossible-to-achieve drive cycle in order to register the data that the BAR computer requires; specifically, the CAT monitor.

If you have a 2005 G&K 450, did you pass your recent smog check? Did you do anything special to pass it; if so, what exactly did you do?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I thought there was an age rule in there or did they take that out? Not in California, but used to live there.

I would contact the people at Stephen Imports in Culver City. There # is: (310) 397-9744. They work on 453's as well as Homers Auto Repair in Monrovia. Their number is: (626) 358-6259.
